MODE COMBINATIONS
Official rulings, resolution order and interactions between the combinable game modes.
INFO
The ESTRO modes can be combined with one another to create more complex matches. This section documents the interactions, the official rulings for ambiguities, and the resolution order when several effects trigger at the same time.
Single Player has a completely self-contained structure (starships, guardians, dedicated AI) and cannot be combined with any other mode.
RESOLUTION ORDER — DESTRUCTION
When several effects trigger on the same destruction, the canonical order is:
- 1.Card in the Incinerator — destruction confirmed.
- 2.NecroToken assigned — if destroyed by the opponent (passive, immediate).
- 3.Quadrante dell'Oblio — random effect via Tool.
- 4.Imboscata Illusoria — places Illusio (if a face-down card + Illusio in hand).
- 5.Fessura Dimensionale — draw from the Dimensional Deck (only if a Fessura self-destruction).
1. Card destroyed
The card is sent to the Incinerator.
2. NecroToken assigned[PASSIVE]
If destroyed by the opponent, the player receives 1 NecroToken.
3. Quadrante dell'Oblio
Random effect via Tool: the player activates the Quadrante.
4. Imboscata Illusoria
If the card was face-down and the player has an Illusio in hand, they place it on the field.
5. Fessura Dimensionale
Only if the destruction was a Fessura self-destruct: draw from the Mazzo Dimensionale.
INCOMPATIBLE COMBINATIONS
Some modes cannot coexist due to a structural incompatibility of the play field or of the victory conditions.
| Mode A | Mode B | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Inferno 2vs2 | Ultimo Bastione | Competitive teams vs co-op; different play fields |
| Zona di Conquista | Ultimo Bastione | 5 flat zones vs 3 lanes x 4 depths; incompatible layouts |
| Cinque Soglie | Single Player | asymmetric match against starships: no symmetric opponent side for the Threshold events |
| Cinque Soglie | Ultimo Bastione | co-op against the Horde: no symmetric opponent side for the Threshold events |
